Rose McGowan Talks Conan and Red Sonja

SOURCE: ComicBookMovie.Com - August 28, 2010
Rose McGowan gives an update on Red Sonja and what she think on Jason Momoa's Conan.

When Rose McGowan attended the 6th annual tribute for late guitarist and her personal friend Johnny Ramone, a reporter from The Blairing Out Show asked her whats going on with Red Sonja? and her thoughts on the new Conan.

"We'll I just finished Conan, literally just finished and uh, So we don't know whats going on with Red Sonja. Because of male driven industry the thing that's gonna go first is Conan, which kinda makes sense because Red Sonja kinda came out after that, in the Robert E. Howard world. So we'll see. I hope to do it. I don't know, you know everything's based on maybe how Conan does"

"Jason who is 6'5 and he kills it in this movie, no pun intended, You could not find another actor. Jasono Momoa who is 6'5 in Hollywood, its just not gonna happen so they needed to cast someone unknown really."

Rose can next be seen in Robert Rodriguez's Machete along side Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Robet De Niro, Lindsey Lohan, and Steven Seagal, due out next month on the 3rd.

Conan is due in theatres 2011.

Tweeting For Pakistan

SOURCE: Blog.Dawn.Com - August 28, 2010
Actress and philanthropist Alyssa Milano, who has been regularly tweeting about the floods since August 12 to her one million followers, is currently leading the celebrity twitter drive for Pakistan. This year Milano won VH1′s “Do Something Twitter” award for using the site to raise money for a non-profit work to supply clean water. On her birthday, she asked her followers to donate money to the charity instead of buying her birthday gifts.

These days on her twitter page, Milano has been raising awareness about the flood victims, how people can help and also information about Pakistan in general. On August 20, she tweeted: "1 more #Pakistan tweet for 2day. Seems a lot of you think it’s in the Middle East (shouldn’t matter but), it’s not. It’s in South Asia :)".

Holly Marie Combs joins "Pretty Little Liars"

SOURCE: AusielloFiles.EW.Com - April 11, 2010
I’m officially getting old. I know this because Holly Marie Combs has just been cast as the mother of a teenager!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the ex-Charmed one is joining ABC Family’s upcoming drama, Pretty Little Liars, as the mother of Lucy Hale’s Aria.

Liars, based on the popular series of young adult novels from Alloy (which is producing the series), follows four teen girls — Aria (Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) — who have been hiding a deep, dark secret since the sixth grade.

Chad Lowe was recently tapped to play Aria’s father (and Combs’ TV hubby). The cast also includes Laura Leighton and Bianca Lawson.

Liars is set to debut on June 8 at 8 pm/ET.

Rose McGowan Joins Conan, But What About Red Sonja?

SOURCE: ScreenRant.com - March 20, 2010
On Tuesday, Variety reported that actress Rose McGowan would be joining the cast of Marcus Nispel’s Conan as “an evil half-human/half-witch.” McGowan’s addition rounds out a solid cast, including Jason Momoa as Conan, Ron Perlman as Conan’s father, and Stephen Lang as the villain Khalar Singh.

While McGowan’s casting is certainly good news for Nispel and crew, one of the immediate questions that came to mind was what it would mean for Robert Rodriguez’s planned remake of Red Sonja. We already knew that the film was delayed based on McGowan’s tweets, but there was hope that Sonja might make a cameo appearance in Conan. Of course, it would seem obvious that if McGowan has joined the cast of Conan, she can’t make a cameo appearance as Red Sonja in the same film.

In order to figure out exactly where Red Sonja is at the moment, MTV sat down with Robert Rodriguez at the South By Southwest Film Festival.

'Charmed' TV Series To Continue In Comic Book Form

SOURCE: MTV.com - March 17, 2010
The Power of Three is making a comeback.

Zenescope Entertainment revealed this week that they've obtained the comic book rights for "Charmed," a supernatural-themed TV series that aired on the WB Network for eight seasons. Created in 1998 by Constance M. Burge, the series followed three sisters — Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) — who were descended from a long line of good witches and tasked to face the forces of evil.

Zenescope's "Charmed" comic book series will pick up with an original story that takes place after the series' eighth season. Paul Ruditis and Raven Gregory ("The Gift") are co-writing the title with artist Dave Hoover ("Captain America"). Ruditis has written several books based on TV series — including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Roswell" — in addition to two "Charmed" novels.

"The key to this series success is to strike a nice balance in creating a brand new, intriguing storyline for fans of the television show while also not alienating Zenescope and comic book readers who haven't really followed it before but might want to now that it's a comic," said Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco.

"The great thing is that Paul and Raven have done just that with this story arc," continued Tedesco. "Anybody will be able to pick up this series and follow it whether or not they ever watched the show before. Moreover, fans of the show are going to be thrilled when they see where this story goes."

Given the newfound freedoms of the comic book medium, it may even be possible for characters like Prue (one of the original Halliwell sisters portrayed by Shannen Doherty) and Cole Turner (Julian McMahon) to return in some form. Both characters were written out of the "Charmed" TV series when their respective actors left the show.

"Charmed # 0" will be released in June and the first issue will debut at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July.

Shannen Doherty's dad inspired dancing stint

SOURCE: SFGATE.com - March 3, 2010
Actress Shannen Doherty decided to join the "Dancing With The Stars" line-up in honor of her father, who is recovering from a stroke.

The former "Charmed" star will don her dancing shoes to participate in the upcoming series of the hit talent show, after turning down several offers to compete in previous years.

She insists her severe stage fright kept her from signing up in the past, but she decided to accept the challenge this year after watching her dad Tom's battle to recover from a stroke.

She tells People.com, "He lost his speech, he wasn't mobile. He was really struggling, and still is. When I mentioned this to him, he got really excited, and he wanted me to do it. I thought, if my dad can fight through having a stroke and the loss of being able to communicate, I think I can do this for him. So I figured I'm going to get over my fear for him. ... I have a huge fear of live audiences. I break out in hives, full blown panic attacks, and everything else."

But she's determined to shape up and do her best on the program, adding, "I don't work out. I need to get my endurance up. I'm going to get in great shape, and everyone who I know who's been on the show has had a great time. It's with hesitation and fear, but it's going to be good to conquer a fear."

Doherty will face off against "Baywatch" babe Pamela Anderson and pop singer Nicole Scherzinger, among others, when the 10th series of "Dancing With The Stars" begins on March 22.

Christina Applegate And Alyssa Milano To Star With Amanda Bynes In Comedy 'Hall Pass'

SOURCE: MTV.com - February 26, 2010
They both played TV teenagers in the 90s, but it took a couple decades for actresses Christina Applegate and Alyssa Milano to earn a "Hall Pass." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lovely ladies have been cast in the Farrelly brothers comedy alongside already announced stars Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer and Amanda Bynes .

With a growing gang of famous faces, the flick seems to be shaping up to be the raunchy step-cousin to Garry Marshall's sweet-as-pie "Valentine's Day" (though we somehow doubt the actors' mugs will be combined into the shape of a heart for the "Hall Pass" poster).

The flick "centers on what happens when two husbands are given permission to go outside their marriages for guilt-free romantic liaisons for one week." We're not sure which characters Christina and Alyssa will play, but it's likely at least one, if not both, will be married to the husbands mentioned, which leaves one burning question: Who in their right mind who want to step out on these gals? We're curious to see how this kooky premise turns out and if the wives get a little on-the-side lovin' of their own (if you know what I mean).

What do you think Crushers? Do you think "Hall Pass" is going to ace the reviews or end up on academic probation?

Alyssa Milano to CEOs: Match My Haiti Donation

SOURCE: ExtraTV.Com - January 15, 2010
Alyssa Milano has put her money where her heart is -- and is asking corporations to do the same.

Milano, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, donated $50,000 to the charity's Haiti earthquake relief efforts, and has made a "Tweet Challenge" on Twitter asking corporations to match her donation.

Check out a list of celebrity-endorsed charities sending relief to Haiti

The actress writes on Huffington Post, "I challenge any corporation to match my $50,000 donation to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. 100% of every dollar will go directly to supplies that include tarpaulins, water-purification tablets, oral rehydration salts, family water kits, medical supplies, medical kits, food, shelter, and protection."

Madonna has also donated money to relief efforts and asked her fans "to join me collectively to match my contribution or give in any way you can." She adds in her statement to AP, "We must act now."

The queen of pop gave $250,000 to Partners in Health, a health care provider in Haiti.

Alyssa Milano: I would love to do a 'Charmed' reunion!

SOURCE: NYPost.Com - January 11, 2010
As an unabashed fan of all things "Charmed," I would watch Alyssa Milano in anything -- even if she guested on "Two and a Half Men." But thankfully for my Tivo and sanity, she has chosen to guest star on one of my favorite shows, "Castle." On tonight's brand new episode she plays Kyra, who Castle describes as "the one that got away."
I recently got a chance to chat with Phoebe Samantha Alyssa about working with Nathan Fillion, the possibilities of a "Charmed" reunion and why she's so thankful half a million people follow her every move.
PopWrap: How did you hook up with "Castle?"
Alyssa Milano: The show has been lovely enough to offer me a couple of different characters but I was waiting for something that was special. I didn't just want to do a guest spot.
PW: Didn't want to be the killer?
Alyssa: Exactly! The other episodes they had offered me, I was the killer in one and the victim in the other. So when this script came up it was so wonderfully written and dynamic that I decided to do this one. I didn't know this at the time, but Nathan, bless his heart, has a list of different actors he wants to guest star on the show and I was on that list. (READ MORE)

Alyssa Milano, Other Celebrities Discover The Power Of Online Fundraising

SOURCE: HuffingtonPost.Com - December 31, 2009
Another reason celebrities love the Internet: they can raise money without even attending a fundraiser.

The power of celebrities to push issues looks to be even more prominent as we enter a new decade, with the latest example being Alyssa Milano's miraculous success raising money for international supergroup charity: water. Her online fundraiser received over 1,400 donations totaling over $92,000.

On December 9, Milano wrote on HuffPost Impact about giving up her 37th birthday, asking people to donate to her online fundraiser instead of giving her a present.

According to charity: water, that $92,568 will provide clean drinking water to 4,628 people in over 18 communities.

Instead of attending $500-per-seat black tie events, prominent figures can bring their message to the masses and make a huge impact through the compilation of small donations.

'Nip/Tuck' prepares to make its final face-lifts on FX

SOURCE: Zap2It.com - December 31, 2009
As "Nip/Tuck" begins its final batch of episodes Wednesday, Jan. 6, on FX, star Dylan Walsh is feeling a curious blend of bittersweet and bemusement.

"We actually finished production back in June, so it feels a little strange," explains Walsh, 46, who has played beleaguered plastic surgeon Dr. Sean McNamara since the show's 2003 premiere. "We've made peace with the show and moved on, but of course it's still alive, and closure is still awaiting the audience."

And although the actor trots out the usual homilies about finding a second home and family on the show's Paramount soundstages, he admits that he, castmate Julian McMahon and the rest of the creative team were pretty much ready to hang up their scalpels when this season finally wrapped.

"Sean was chronically in a midlife crisis. In fact, it often seemed like he never could get out of it," Walsh says. "That was really sort of built into the structure of the show, so on one level, it was kind of a relief to say goodbye to him. But the show went on long enough that we all felt like we had 'done it,' although obviously it was bittersweet."

Indeed, the show's executive producer, Ryan Murphy, says he developed the sunny new Fox series "Glee" because he needed something to restore his spirits after working on the dark melodrama of "Nip/Tuck."

Walsh finds that declaration a little disconcerting, though, given that Murphy was the guy who kept dragging the characters into their dark nights of the soul anytime the show started developing a comic sensibility.

"There were entire seasons where we thought that we were starting to edge into a somewhat lighter feel. I remember at the beginning of the fifth season, we had moved to L.A., and we had Oliver Platt and Bradley Cooper, so we felt like we were going to be a little more of a comedic show or at least a lighthearted one. ... But we didn't stay there long, because in that same season, it ends with me being stabbed by my manager on the surgery floor."

'Castle': Alyssa Milano and Nathan Fillion together at last

SOURCE: Zap2It.Com - December 29, 2009
It's kind of hard to believe that it's taken this long for Alyssa Milano and Nathan Fillion to work together. They seem like they'd be a natural fit.

Milano guest stars on ABC's "Castle" when the show returns Monday, Jan. 11 as the one who got away from Fillion's Richard Castle. The situation is complicated when they are reunited over the death of a bridesmaid at her wedding to another man.

As the clip below and photos from the episode show, she's less than sure that happily ever after with someone else is really the way to go.
